    We offer German exams for visa and citizenship.

We offer the official ÖIF German exams at four levels (A1, A2, B1, B2).

You need an exam for your visa or the Austrian citizenship? The ÖIF exams are official proof of language proficiency in Austria and therefore also the appropriate linguistic preparation for professional and social integration in Austria.

ÖIF exams

The exams consist of a language section and a values and orientation section.

Language skills at A1 level as well as knowledge of values and orientation content are being tested. The exam is recognised proof of language proficiency for A1, German before immigration according to the Settlement and Residence Act.

Examination procedure

  • Written part (70 minutes)
    • Language in use
    • Listening and answering
    • Reading and writing
  • Knowledge of values and orientation (40 minutes)
  • Oral part (20 minutes; group examination)

Language skills at A2 level as well as knowledge of values and orientation content are being tested. This is the recognised language certificate for Module 1 of the Integration Agreement.

Examination procedure

  • Written part (80 minutes)
    • Reading
    • Listening
    • Writing
  • Knowledge of values and orientation (40 minutes)
  • Oral part 1 (10 minutes per person)
  • Oral part 2 (20 minutes; individual examination)

Language skills at B1 level as well as knowledge of values and orientation content are being tested. This is the recognised language certificate for Module 2 of the Integration Agreement. The successful completion of this exam is required in order to obtain the Austrian citizenship.

    • Listening
    • Writing
  • Knowledge of values and orientation (40 minutes)
  • Oral part (16 minutes; examination in teams of two)

Language skills at B2 level are being tested. The exam is recognised proof of language proficiency for B2 and can be used to obtain the Austrian citizenship after 6 years.

Das ist der anerkannte Sprachnachweis für Modul 1 der Integrationsvereinbarung.
Die Prüfung dient zur Erlangung des Visums für 3 Jahre.
